Scientific trip to the "Egypt Beni Suef Cement" factory

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan - President of the University, Prof. Dr. Atef Fadl - Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Essam Hamad - Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Sayed - Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Dr. Mohamed El-Sayed Abdel-Barr - Coordinator of Technology Programs at the Faculty, and within the framework of the continuous interest in enhancing the scientific and practical experiences of students of technology programs at the Faculty, the Faculty of Technology and Education - Beni Suef University organized today - Tuesday 17-12-2024, a scientific trip to the "Egypt Beni Suef Cement" factory in Ghayada, to closely learn about the industrial processes and advanced technologies used by the cement factory in production operations.
The trip was supervised directly by Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Sayed, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Mohamed El-Sayed Abdel-Barr, Coordinator of Technology Programs at the Faculty , and Dr. Abdel Salam Shaaban, Lecturer in the Department of Process Control Technology at the Faculty.
It is worth mentioning that the factory management warmly welcomed the trip supervisors and students, where a presentation was given by Mr. Eng. Yasser Salem - Factory Manager, Mr. Eng. / Occupational Safety and Health Officer, Mr. Eng. / Production Manager, and Mr. Eng. / Electricity Manager at the factory, where the presentation included a comprehensive explanation of the steps of cement manufacturing processes, starting from crushing raw materials, grinding them, burning them, and adding additives according to the type of cement required, until the cement in its final form.
A comprehensive tour was also organized inside the central control room and production lines accompanied by the factory management, during which the advanced technology used in the cement industry was informed. The students were also provided with a comprehensive explanation of the production stages, starting from raw materials to the final product, in addition to a detailed explanation of the mechanism of operation of advanced machines and equipment that contribute to increasing productivity and efficiency of the factory. This provided the students with a unique opportunity to benefit from practical experiences that are in line with their academic specializations.
At the end of the visit, the faculty members, supervisors of the trip, and the students expressed their appreciation to the management of the Egypt Beni Suef Cement Factory for the warm welcome and comprehensive explanation, stressing that they greatly benefited from this unique experience. The supervisors of the trip also expressed their happiness with the students’ interaction with such trips, which are a wonderful model of cooperation between academic and industrial institutions, and emphasize the importance of continuous communication with the industrial sector to provide students with the knowledge and skills that qualify them for the labor market.
